It started with their idea to make Lego cartoons, bringing all their creations and stories to life. To make this happen we took a closer look into ‘how to’ Stop-Motion videos. Now we can’t stop making items around us alive! A bit like Victor Frankenstein, but in a cute and friendly way.
We were lucky to come across Skill Share in our research. It has many amazing courses and the first month is completely free. The one we loved is Colette Peri’s Quick and Easy Stop Motion – very kids friendly.
In our terms that translates to – engaging, interesting, with clear instructions that are easy to follow. Bonus – teacher being contagiously in love with this tool for creating magic, it made us even more excited about the whole stop motion making process. Thing needed – smartphone. App used is Life Laps (free) and everything else you most likely already have at home.
Only 18 minutes from the beginning of the course we were completely prepared for our first project. Strangely it wasn’t Lego. My guess – it had to do with this whole action taking place before breakfast. So, we made a ‘peel banana’ movie.
Although Aron wanted me to write down that no bananas were hurt during the filming, I must be honest, I eat it straight from the board once the camera stopped rolling.
We already have a whole list of new projects. I feel this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship…
